Provo River Trail is perfect for Sunday walks. The long, meandering roads are perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Somehow we found out if we walk long enough that there are horses patiently waiting for the occasional nibble. Carrots are their favorite. In the winter the horses are left outside, with thorns tangled in their wild manes. We can't brush them, but we can feed them carrots.
A farmer driving his truck down the misty lane saw me and was intrigued by my excitement. I was knee deep in a snow bank, gallivanting through the dry, frozen brush. He stopped, rolled down his window and excitedly asked, " What! Do you see a bird?"
"No I replied, I just saw some really cool icicles I wanted to photograph,""Oh," he replied with a disappointing glance. He rolled his truck window up and drove away while I happily took photos of baby icicles that had formed on the grasses and branches until my fingers were so frozen I couldn't stand it any more.
To me, that is more exciting than birds.

I am wearing the beanie I knit for Calvin last Valentine's Day. For some reason it looks pointy in this picture.
A swing along the way.
The ducks really like this house.
